Episode 11 (09 Feb 2009)

BOF Monday is over and as we ponder over the episode that was shown yesterday, i know that we’re already twiddling our thumbs in anticipation for the final episode for this week later…

However, since we’re still on the topic of Episode 11, allow me to give my rants and raves for yesterdays episode as i have just been able to fully comprehend what was happening since i just saw it today with subtitles…

Like most of you, I’m quite confused with Jandi’s attitude towards Jun Pyo in this episode too… I have forgiven her time and again for being indecisive about Jihoo and Junpyo in the past since Kdramas are normally big on blowing love triangles out of proportion… Somehow, if a heroine gets confused between two men who are vying for her attention, boy do they really get confused and do they really tend to give mixed signals!

But seriously… this time… what was the scriptwriter thinking? I know that Jandi might have been pressured from all the problems that are now resting on her shoulders from what’s happening with her family but SERIOUSLY… if i have a guy like Jun Pyo and a best friend like Ji Hoo, i would have leaned on these people instead of a stranger whom she’s only gotten to know from God Knows Where…

I’m kind of thinking that this might be the effect of the show being rushed and being pushed from shoot to show… there is not much room to see how the relationships are built between characters (In MG, we can understand San Cai for siding with the guy she befriends since it was shown that they’ve become workmates first and that the guy was really able to gain her trust over a period of time before she became really close with him unlike in this version…)

Also just when we’re beginning to see progress in JunPyo and Jandi’s relationship, that angle was again relegated to the backburner since the story has to tackle another storyline or plotline from the manga hence difficulties once again arises between the couple just when they are beginning to resolve something… It’s as if everything that’s supposed to happen over a couple of episodes is being squeezed into one episode hence we see a weak Jandi instead of someone who is slowly coming to a realization of what Junpyo really means to her…

Actually, I was thinking that in this episode, the intention of the scriptwriter for that scene where Jandi told Junpyo that she’s tired is not really to show that she’s suffocated with the relationship but rather to show how they obviously still have very big TRUST issues with each other… Jandi that Jun Pyo can support her in her quest to resolve things by herself and Jun Pyo that Jandi would not really leave him because of her problems which obviously stem from him…

But WTH? how would we know? There was really no explanation given… just those dialogues which you can take at face value without really getting an idea why they say and do those things when obviously they are already together… I guess this is the time when voiceovers really come in handy…

But all is not lost… i also think that the scriptwriter made Jandi react that way so that we can feel the impact of her realization of how much Junpyo now means to her when she was conversing with Jaeha (So at least i was celebrating over that, that finally! It came from her mouth that Junpyo means something to her now…) and at least now in this episode we now see the F4 bond that had been missing for quite a time and it really made me envious to see how close these friends are… that if one is in trouble, the others would drop everything just to come to the rescue…

Again… Jihoo took my breath away for this episode… such a noble friend! That scene where he told Jandi that he backed off because of Junpyo… i don’t know if it was a confession to her about his real feelings too but i almost got up from my seat to applaud him on how much he’s looking out for Junpyo…

All in all, we know that today is gonna be another lovey-dovey day between Junpyo and Jandi, so let’s see where the PD and the scriptwriter of this series will take us… we still have 12 more episodes left to go and hopefully, there is a purpose and a reason why they made the characters as such… I guess we’d only get to know in the succeeding episodes since they said they’re really doing their own take for the second half of this series so i’m looking forward to that…

Rants aside, i’m still enjoying the show to the fullest although as early as now… i can say that Episode 11 falls into the category of one of my least favorite episodes for the series…
