EPISODE 14 (17 Feb 2009)

TUESDAYS YOU NEVER FAIL ME…

No matter how disappointed i might have been with previous episodes of BOF at the start of the week, something happens in the storyline the following day that makes me say once again that “YES… BOF is a series worth getting crazy for…” and this day is absolutely no exception…

The confrontations, the angst, the serious conversations and the camaraderie between Jandi and the F3 are just some of my favorite things from this series and they’re all present TONIGHT!

It’s major emotion overload for Episode 14… Even if that hide and seek scene with the masks on between Jandi and F3 was a little creepy and a little too prolonged, i still enjoyed it to the fullest… Somehow i sort of felt that that segment holds a kind of symbolism as to how Jihoo, Jandi and Junpyo are hiding their real emotions behind a facade or a mask of pretension for things that obviously they have more feelings about…

Although this episode is such that one would really need subtitles to fully appreciate… (What did Junpyo say to the F3 during that basketball scene that got Yijung mad enough to punch him? How did the conversation between Junpyo and Jihoo go? What did Jandi say to Jihoo before she left for Macau? and other such questions that i’m sure all of my fellow non-korean speakers are also antsy for answers for…) There is no words necessary to convey the sadness and emptiness that each of the person in this messy triangle is feeling… Language barrier aside, i’m sure that that is an emotion that all of us fully understand…

Jandi for her feelings of being abandoned… of finally admitting and finding the love of her life in a person whom she believed wholeheartedly and sacrificed so much for, yet who seemed as if he’s also the one who left her in a middle of a fight that he himself made her promise not to leave him for…

Junpyo for the suffocating wealth of emotions that he must now be feeling, choosing to turn his back on everything near and dear to him including the girl he loves for the breadth of the responsibility that falls on his shoulder…

And Jihoo… Jihoo is sinking… he’s a man who’s into deep already with his feelings for someone whom he’s trying desperately not to love and no matter how hard he tries to stop himself… it’s like a trainwreck just waiting to happen…

Gosh… my heart aches just thinking about how hard the situation all three of them are at right now… But these are moments that make BOF, BOF… AND I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT!

No matter what the odds, i know that in the end the lesson for this drama would still be the same… THAT TRUE LOVE PREVAILS but the road going towards that realization is sure worthy of all the time that we’ve spent on this series…
