SNSD - Gee
Girls' Generation (Hangul: 소녀시대; Hanja: 少女時代) is a South Korean nine-member girl group formed by SM Entertainment in 2007. The members include (in order of official announcement) Yoona, Tiffany, Yuri, Hyoyeon, Sooyoung, Seohyun, Taeyeon (the leader), Jessica, and Sunny. International Girls' Generation fans usually refer to the group as SNSD, the acronym of the group's Korean name So Nyeo Shi Dae as well as their Chinese name, Shaonü Shidai. Many of the members had already pursued an entertainment career before Girls' Generation's debut through acting, DJ-ing, and modeling. Their official fanclub is known as S♡NE (소원) also one of the titles of a song from their first album. Girls' Generation sold 100,000 copies of their album in South Korea, being the first girl group to do so since 2002.
Old Morning Musume - Jyosei Kashimashi Monogatari
from wikipedia
Morning Musume. (モーニング娘。, Mōningu Musume.?) is an all-girl J-pop group from Japan. They are sometimes also referred to as "Momusu" (モー娘。, Mōmusu.?). Their act revolves around singing and dancing to generally upbeat melodies. They are the lead group of Hello! Project, masterminded by Naoki Yamazaki, and managed by producer Tsunku, who composes nearly all the lyrics and melodies for their songs. Currently, their overall single sales is the highest record of female group on the Oricon chart.
Musume (娘?) in this context, means girl, although the literal meaning is "daughter." The group is particularly well-known for its ever fluctuating line-up, with "graduations" and auditions occurring nearly each year (2008 was the only year in which no line-up changes occurred). Over the years there have also been several splinter groups, (including, but not limited to, Tanpopo and Pucchi Moni) and Morning Musume often works closely with other Hello! Project acts, including but not limited to Aya Matsuura, Berryz Kobo, Melon Kinenbi, and v-u-den.
Morning Musume is scheduled to release their 38th single on February 18, 2009. This will be their first single of 2009, titled "Naichau Kamo" (泣いちゃうかも?). The title is translated to "I Might Cry" and will be released in a limited versions A and B, each including a DVD.
