Update 30/3 Credit KPculture

The ending scene (photo included) is beyond the jump. All of the spoilers regarding the four year jump are written below in a very light colour , so highlight it to read everything. We’re warning you now - if you want to keep some element of surprise for the finale, don’t read any further.

* Jun Pyo appears on a talkshow. He is on the show as a guest after leading Shin-hwa to success. Supposedly, the host asks him about marriage plans, and Jun Pyo responds that he has someone in mind.

* Yi Jeong returns to Korea after studying abroad in Sweden. He goes to find Ga Eul, who is teaching at a kindergarten. Before leaving four years earlier, he had told Ga Eul, “If you haven’t found a soulmate by the time I return in four years - you’ll be the first person I visit.”

* Eyewitnesses are claiming that the boy who plays the young Gu Jun Pyo was one of the children at Ga Eul’s workplace, but had straight hair instead of curls. (KP’s note: We’re not quite sure why they used the same child actor for a different role. He’s too old to be Jun Pyo and Jan Di’s child, so don’t get your hopes up. ^^)

* Ji Hu’s grandfather might be deceased by this time. He was actually supposed to die earlier because he was in the last stage of cancer (according to the KBS description). However, they felt that Ji Hu’s life would be too pathetic losing so much at once, so they changed it to a heart condition.

* Ji Hu is becoming a doctor like his grandfather. He was seen hugging a girl (that didn’t look familiar).

* Jan Di is becoming a doctor.

* Jun Pyo kneels in front of Jan Di, holding a ring. Before she can respond, F3 comes up and interrupts. Ji Hu says, “I object to the decision.” Yi Jeong chimes in, “I do too.” Woo Bin adds, “Me too…. How can you do this without asking our permission?” Jun Pyo and Jan Di look at them and smile, while Jun Pyo embraces her in his arms.

still (3/29) - It's a wrap!

It's a wrap! (3/29)

It's a wrap! (3/29)

We thought we made it preeeeettty darn clear, but for those of you who are still uncertain - YES, Jun Pyo and Jan Di end up as a happy couple.

Lee Min Ho and Ku Hye Sun were seen filming scenes where they take wedding photos at a studio; however, netizens are undecided on whether this will be a dream scenario, a real wedding scene after the time jump, or if it’s just a ploy to mislead fans.

And to clarify, all signs are leading to a very very very very likely chance of a happy ending for the SoEul couple as well. Here are some blurry but cute photos of Ga Eul and Yi Jeong at Namsan.

SoEul at Namsan

We also made a few additions/corrections to yesterday’s update. Changes are written below in bold letters.

Update 29/3 Credit KPculture

* The man that attacks Ji Hu/Jun Pyo does so with a car, not a knife. Violence (by stabbing) was reportedly inappropriate to be broadcast; hence, they changed the scene.

* Jan Di holds onto Jun Pyo’s hand while he is unconscious and sobs while thinking of the cold (untrue) things she said to him before leaving.

* The doctor tell the group that Jan Di is the only one that Jun Pyo can’t remember for one of two reasons:

a) She was an extremely traumatic part of his life, or
b) he is so attached to his memories of Jan Di and they are so important to him that somehow they cannot be recalled properly.

* While Jun Pyo suffers his memory loss, viewers will see a resurrection of the rude, obnoxious Jun Pyo from the past.

* Yu Mi tries to become friends with F4 and Jan Di. However, Ji Hu ignores her right from the beginning. She spends time with Jun Pyo linking arms with him, looking at the stars, and even falling asleep together while leaning on each other’s shoulder.

* Woo Bin and Yi Jeong finish their meal at the porridge shop and then tell Jan Di that Jun Pyo has been discharged from the hospital. Jan Di excitedly goes to see him and Woo Bin follows. Ga Eul asks Yi Jeong why he isn’t going with them, but he says that he came to see Ga Eul for a reason.

* When Jan Di arrives at Jun Pyo’s house, she finds him with Yu Mi, looking at the telescope. Upon seeing Jan Di, he asks, “Why did you come here? Ji Hu’s not here,” (assuming that she is Ji Hu’s girlfriend). Jan Di regrets coming when he is nothing but obnoxious to her. Yu Mi then follows her out of his room and suggests that Jan Di shouldn’t visit because Jun Pyo’s condition worsens around her. Yu Mi tells Jan Di that she will help him remember her. However, Jan Di stays back after Yu Mi re-enters the room and eavesdrops. She overhears Jun Pyo asking Yu Mi to make him the same lunchbox as last time. Jan Di realizes that Yu Mi took credit for the lunch she made, but quickly walks away. She bumps into Ji Hu who forces her not to run away, and drags her back to Jun Pyo’s room. They walk in to see Jun Pyo and Yu Mi asleep, leaning on each other.

* It is unclear whether Jan Di will go to medical school. She apologizes to her mother for not being able to go to university or begin a career like others. Her brother asks, “Can’t you go to Shin-hwa’s medical school? They don’t require you to write a test.” She answers that writing a test is required for scholarships. Her mother tells Jan Di to choose the path that she wants.

* Jun Pyo becomes doubtful of Yu Mi when she brings him a lunchbox that doesn’t taste like the one before. He tells her that he can’t get “that girl” Jan Di’s upset expression out of his mind.

* Jun Pyo gets his memory of Jan Di back when he unconsciously jumps in the pool to save her. However, this situation is sort of set up by Jan Di, who drops the necklace into the pool.

Jun Pyo: Who are you?
Jan Di: Call it out…. my name…

She then “falls” into the pool. The others come out to witness her struggling in the water. Ji Hu desperately wants to go in to save her, but knowing her intentions, he waits for Jun Pyo to do something.

* Jun Pyo and Jan Di have a CPR scene.

# Jan Di leaves her dress elsewhere in a rush and wears her uniform to her high school graduation party. She dances with each member of F3 (Ji Hu, Yi Jeong, Woo Bin) while there is narration in the background.

# Jun Pyo and Jan Di have a very important dialogue and a kiss in the Namsan cablecar. (Rumour: Some netizens are predicting that he will ask her to wait for him as he goes abroad for a few years.)

* According to our source, the script he/she has (up to the four year jump) does not include anything about how Jun Pyo’s father wakes up. They may have chosen to leave it out of the script to keep it a secret OR they may not address it until four years later - we’re not sure.

Update 28/3 (b) credit blue_angel_1004@soompi.com

Seems like there are lots of spoilers going around again, some true and some not true…

First, as we all know, JP has a partial memory loss, but only concerning JD. The doctor says that there are two potential reasons why he would have lost memory on that topic. One, that part of his memory was too miserable for him. Or two, it was too important to him, to the point of obsession. For JP’s case, it’s probably the latter. And during his memory loss, JP returns to being the brat he was in ep 1.

The spoiler going around about JD crying is in fact in the script. She holds the hand of unconscious JP and cries miserably as she remembers the words she threw at him during their breakup.

And Yumi… you’re angry at her already, huh?
She has such little part in the next two episodes. Although she’s not in for long, it might feel longer than it actually is just because she’s so annoying. She watches the stars w/ JP while leaning on his shoulder and etc. Although she makes JD’s heart break a lot, if you think about how we suffered through JK, this is nothing. Yumi has a way of talking about herself in third person, and she tries to say “unni” and “oppa” in a cutesy way. But ever perceptive JH once again sees through her and ignores her from the start.

How JP recovers his memory… Guess my hint last time was too easy because everyone guessed correctly. At a pool, JD falls into a pool and instinctively, JP jumps into the pool to save her and recovers his memory. And as guessed by many, JD falls into the pool because of the necklace. But JD purposely drops the necklace into the pool. Their conversation before she drops it, and especially JD’s line… well, I personally really liked it! If the two actors can pull it off, it’ll be a memorable scene. Another hint here! (Have you seen “Lovers in Paris?” There, the female lead tries to prove the male lead’s feelings for her and falls into a pool.)
“Who the heck are you?”
“You call it… my name…”
And then splash…
Everyone comes running out at that moment, and although JH wants to save JD, he knows of JD’s intention and stops himself. There’s a scene where JP does CPR on JD.

JD does wear her school uniform during the graduation party, and she dances with each of the F4.

And yes, as rumored to be, the script for the Namsan kiss is “adoringly.” She runs over there in her school uniform so it is a uniform kiss. And as this cable car is a special place for them where they spent their “first night” together, they also share an important conversation here in addition to their kiss.

Soeul’s spoilers that are going around are all true. YJ leaves for Sweden and he tells GE that if she still hasn’t found her soulmate in 4 years, GE will the first person he seeks upon his return. I too am not sure about their story after the 4 year time jump…

Finally, as for after the time jump, from what I’ve been told, it’s definitely a happy ending for JP/JD. I don’t know what your definition of an open ending is, but from my perspective, it is NOT an open ending. And I’m not sure whether JH’s grandfather will pass away after the time jump. In the original synopsis, he was supposed to have a late stage cancer, but it was changed to a heart condition at the last minute because they were afraid JH would face too much tragedy at such a short span of time.

Oh yes, as for the talk show scene, it is true that it’s after the time jump. One more thing, there is nothing in the script about JP’s father waking up before the time jump.

There should be about 10-20 minutes (depending on the editing) for after the time jump. If I find out that the ending is in any way shocking or unexpected, I’ll drop a line here again just to warn you to prepare yourself.

Update 28/3 Credit KPculture

* Remember in one of the New Caledonia scenes, Jan Di has a dream where a fortune teller predicts that her soulmate and her husband will be two different people? In relation, Ku Hye Sun said in an article published on March 28:

“Ji Hu is Jan Di’s soulmate. She likes him as a person and as a one-of-a-kind, invaluable friend, although she doesn’t love him. Love can only grow when two people’s hearts are the same, but Jan Di doesn’t have those feelings towards Ji Hu.”

I suppose that is the drama’s interpretation of “soulmate”; hence, it’s not supposed to be a bad thing that Jan Di’s soulmate and husband are two different men.

* UNCONFIRMED RUMOURS: Yi Jeong goes to study abroad over the fast-forwarded years. In the four-years-later ending, Ga Eul is teaching at a kindergarten. Apparently, Yi Jeong comes to find Ga Eul at her workplace. Eyewitnesses are claiming that the boy who plays the young Gu Jun Pyo was one of the children there, but had straight hair instead of curls.

KP’s note: Our guess is that Yi Jeong pays Ga Eul a visit after returning from his trip abroad. We’re not quite sure why they used the same child actor for a different role. He’s too old to be Jun Pyo and Jan Di’s child, so don’t get your hopes up. ^^

Updates 27/3 (b) Credit KPculture

Keep reading to the bottom! There are some points that have been altered.

* The “___ years later” is indeed FOUR years later.

* The last scene BEFORE fast-forwarding four years ahead is Jan Di and Jun Pyo’s kiss in the Namsan cable car on the day of her graduation.

* What sparks Jun Pyo to regain his memory of Jan Di? She does pack a lunchbox (eggs and rice) like before in order to try triggering his memory - however, Yu Mi takes credit for making it so it doesn’t help Jan Di at all.
Our source gives hints regarding what actually does trigger his memory to return:

1. Jun Pyo and Jan Di’s first kiss - NOT the one on the swing at the playground
2. New Caledonia
3. Jae Gyeong’s resort
4. Jun Pyo’s trauma
KP’s note: Maybe something to do with swimming?

* SoEul (Yi Jeong and Ga Eul):
Apparently, the date scene at Namsan is NOT in the before-4-years-later script that our source has. Hence, he/she is GUESSING that it is part of the “4 years later” ending.
The last SoEul scene before the fast forward is Yi Jeong opening up his heart slightly to her. All signs seem to point to a happy SoEul ending!

* Kim Min Ji (Empress Chun Chu, That Person Is Coming) has been cast as Jung Yu Mi (Umi from HYD).

Kim Min Ji cast as Jung Yu Mi

Yu Mi uses lies to try to widen the drift between Jun Pyo and Jan Di during his memory loss (of Jan Di). She will appear in the latter half of episode 24. Apparently, she is a character that is sure to universally annoy all viewers - she refers to herself in the third person (”Yu Mi is …. Yu Mi wants….”). Our source says that viewers need not worry too much, Jun Pyo doesn’t pay that much attention to her.

* For those of you who have been asking about the possibility of another extension - no, they will not go past episode 25 on March 31.

* Also, for those of you waiting for episode 25’s script to be leaked - the cast was given their copies of the final script on March 24. HOWEVER, the script did not include the ending (approximately 10 scenes). The creators have decided that nobody will know what happens at the end until the day they film the finale. On that day, each cast member will receive a copy of the ending to memorize immediately. It has been confirmed that Boys Over Flowers will end happily, but it may differ from Hana Yori Dango’s ending. Our source says he/she will likely get the script by Monday, but for the sake of not spoiling the ending for everyone, will NOT reveal how it ends.

Update 27/3(a) Credit blue_angel 1004@soompi

BOF filming fan sighting reports (Spoilers?):

1. Namsan date scene. JD was still wearing her uniform (did she wear her uniform to her graduation party? Now that i think about it, I think that's normal in Korea...) JP showed her a laser show (a real one, not CG). LMH kept eating candy between shooting (you know what that means!)

2. Kindergarten scene. GE is a kindergarten teacher. There is a JP child actor there or maybe a kid who looks like JP's child actor (I don't think this is JP and JD's kid. Just a kid who reminds them of JP...). YJ shows up in front of GE. I think this scene is after the four year jump (after YJ returns from studying abroad and he told GE to give him the chance to be next to her if she is still single after four years)

3. Lee Geum Hee (a famous Korean announcer) said in her radio talk show that she made a guest appearance in BOF and she met LMH. Fans are speculating this to be some sort of interview scene w/ JP. No one knows whether this is before or after the four year time jump.

One more...

4. They were seen filming at the English Village (I think this location is used as Shinhwa outdoor campus, and also where JP first told JD to lick the icecream off his shoes?). Anyway, F4 and JD were there. It looked like JP and JD were bickering. Speculation is that this scene is during the amnesia arc when JD's trying to help JP recover his memory.

To mab2007's question below, probably? And I think #4 is probably in ep 24.

Update 26/3 Credit blue_angel 1004@soompi

JP's memory loss:
The man who bought the fish in ep 23 mistakes JH as JP. He tries to stab JH, and JP gets stabbed instead while trying to stop the man. The spoiler about JP getting amnesia while trying to save Kang San (JD's brother) is FAKE (this happened in the j-version). Don't believe it!

Yumi will make her appearance in the middle of ep 24 (although near the latter part). She is a total b*#*&$, but JP doesn't really respond to her. Yumi has a tendency to talk about herself in third person ("Yumi did this, Yumi did that..." - if you understand Korean, you should know what this means. Basically, it just sounds really annoying). She's not in the story for long, so don't worry too much about her.

The time jump is 4 years. Right before the time jump, there is a JD's graduation party. On that day, JP and JD also go on a date at the Namsan cable car and they kiss there...

How JP recovers his memory... is not the same as the manga where he gets hit by a baseball.
Of course, egg roll and lunchbox make their appearance, and Yumi is suspected because of these things, but the reason for the memory recovery is.. Ok, I'll give you a hint.
At Jundi's first kiss attempt (not the swing kiss, but there was an occurrence before that)... involves New Caledonia, JK's resort, JP's trauma/phobia...

And Soeul.
I too saw the Soeul's Namsan staircase photos, but something's strange.
It's so different from what's in the script. Perhaps they were filming the four year later reunion scene? In Soeul's last meeting before the 4 year time jump, there is a scene where YJ shows that he is opening up to GE. Based on this, I think we can hope for a happy ending for this couple as well.

For the 4 year time jump, it is true that the script is a blank script. The cast will get the script on the day of the shooting for the scenes that happen after the time jump. There should be about 10 scenes after the time jump. I too do not know the content of those 10 scenes yet, and I don't think I should reveal them even when I find out.

Update 25/3 (b) Credit KPculture.

Update: For those of you who have been asking about the possibility of another extension - no, they will not go past episode 25 on March 31. For the many who want to know if Yi Jeong and Ga Eul will be a couple by the end - we don’t know either. We will update if we hear anything.

Also, for those of you curious waiting for episode 25’s script to be leaked - the cast was given their copies of the final script on March 24. HOWEVER, the script did not include the ending. The creators have decided that nobody will know what happens at the end until the day they film the finale. On that day, each cast member will receive a copy of the ending to memorize. It has been confirmed that Boys Over Flowers will end happily, but it may differ from Hana Yori Dango’s ending.

KPculture Prediction

Boys Over Flowers - KP’s Predictions
20 March 09

KP’s note: Although we originally stick to reporting news, some readers have been asking us what we predict will happen. In this post, we will explore some alternative endings as well as make predictions on how Boys Over Flowers will end.

Hello, readers! Thanks for your support: visting our site, asking our opinions, and not sending us hate mail when we make mistakes. We really appreciate it :) Yan2 commented asking how we think the drama will end. We’d been so busy trying to keep up with the neverending barrage of spoilers that we hadn’t even really considered it. So, we discussed and came up with a few potential scenarios. Keep in mind that these are our predictions based on the director’s previous work and general kdrama patterns - it’s not necessary what we WANT to happen, just what we THINK will happen. Repeat: our predictions, not our fantasy.

******

First of all, let’s address rumoured endings. Earlier, a drama rep spoke with the press and said that the director and writer have yet to decide on an ending; however, it will be different from the Hana Yori Dango manga. We assume that they probably won’t go with an ending that people have already predicted, like the two below:

1) Near the beginning of our blog’s existence, we posted a still that was rumoured to be the last scene of the drama. That may have been the original plan, but it is 99% not anymore. The photo was passed around all over the Internet, so the drama reps had to speak up and say that it was simply a deleted scene from the earlier episodes in New Caledonia. This doesn’t really make sense since Jan Di is already wearing the necklace and Jun Pyo’s water goggles indicate that he knows how to swim. However, there is no way that the drama creators will end with a scene that everyone already knows about.

2) Korean netizens were suggesting that the drama would end with Jan Di waking up to realize that everything (in the 25 episodes) was a dream. Then, as Jan Di goes to school in a car, she bumps into Jun Pyo who is on a bicycle - in real life, she is well-off while he is poor.

******

Each guy's screen time is reflected by their size in this photo - Lee Min Ho and then Kim Hyun Joong and then Kim Beom and then Kim Joon. ^^

Each guy's screen time is reflected by their size in this photo - Lee Min Ho and then Kim Hyun Joong and then Kim Beom and then Kim Joon. ^^

Now, onto KP’s predictions. (OUR PREDICTIONS, NOT SPOILERS - DO NOT POST ELSEWHERE.)

1. Jun Pyo and Jan Di stay together. Sorry, there’s just no way Ji Hu and Jan Di end up together. It doesn’t matter if they’re good for each other or that BOF creators have promised an ending different from HYD. The whole point of the story is that Jun Pyo (Tsukasa) and Jan Di (Tsukushi) are destined for each other. The question is how will they get Chairwoman’s permission?

Our theory is that Chairwoman Kang will be forced to accept her because:
a) Jan Di will have a hand in Jun Pyo’s father waking up from his coma. Yes, we know he’s supposed to be dead, but we believe that he may still be alive.
b) Jan Di saves Shin-hwa, much like Tsukushi saved the Domyoji World Finance Group in Hana Yori Dango.

2. Ji Hu’s grandfather passes away due to the chest pains he’s been having (in previous episodes). We debated for awhile whether they would make Ji Hu’s grandfather pass away, just as things are resolved between the two. After all, this is a Korean drama. However, we don’t think the BOF writer would risk the wrath of Ji Hu fans by making Ji Hu grandfatherless in addition to parentless, SeoHyun-less, and JanDi-less. That would just be too sad!

3. With Ga Eul’s encouragement, Yi Jeong goes back to work as a rising potter.

4. The drama will end with scenes from “___ years later….”, just like two of the PD’s previous shows - Delightful Girl Choon-Hyang and My Girl.

a) Jan Di is on her way to completing medical school and is still volunteering at Ji Hu’s grandfather’s clinic. However, the clinic has expanded to become a sophisticated hospitalwith the ex-President as Director, thanks to the financial support of Shin-hwa.

b) Ji Hu’s flamboyant friend from Hong Kong comes and takes him off to Macau. Just kidding. A lovely, lively musician catches Ji Hu’s eye - and heart. He gets out his mother’s old wedding band and considers marriage.

c) Of course they have to throw a bone to Woo Bin, who has been sorely neglected throughout the drama. We suppose he takes over his father’s business but make reforms so that it is no longer tied to any mobsters? (Some netizens are guessing that he will go abroad in order to avoid taking over the shady family business.) With Yi Jeong settling down, Woo Bin remains the only playboy of F4.

d) At Yi Jeong and Ga Eul’s wedding ceremony, Jan Di catches the bouquet, much to Jun Pyo’s pleasure. (We debated with the possibility that the writer will infuriate all SoEul fans by leaving it open-ended about whether or not they get together. However, we decided it is likely that they’ll be a couple.)

THE END.

******

Update 25/3 (a) Credit KPculture

Episode 24 Spoilers:

* At the hospital where Jun Pyo lies hurt, Jun Hee yells at her mother: “Are you satisfied now!? Do you even know what your son likes eating, what he likes doing?”

* Jan Di and Chairwoman Kang have a conversation. Jan Di tells her that Jun Pyo likes omelettes, ramen, fishcakes, going on picnics, and stargazing.

* Chairwoman Kang tears up in front of a fishcakes [food] stall.

* At the empty clinic, Ji Hu is deep in thought while holding a ring. He starts to cry. However, when his grandfather enters, he puts his arms around his waist and begins to sob.

* Jung Yu Mi makes her entrance at the end of episode 24 (or maybe even at the beginning of episode 25).

credit to sunnyz1@soompi for posting this up.

the following is coming from an enthusiastic Chinese fan's thinking....

i just read it and thought her words are so sincere and reasonable.
so i helped her to post it here..................

special thanks to EMMAW...

A Good Start, an Unfortunate Turn
That is my opinion of the Korean version Boys Over Flowers.

The first 12 episodes are fresh and enjoyable. The story followed the manga closely with some careful adaptation here and there; the characters were nicely set up by the effective performances of the leading actors. But for the past 10 episodes, I, like many audience following the show, sat hopelessly each week only to watch it take a downward spiral. Part 2 of BOF seemed to turn into a product of joint forces by powerful agent (actor representatives) and deep-pocketed sponsors.

Mr. Lee Minho has proved himself to be a very talented and charismatic young actor who carried the first half of the show effectively. We see him building this character with a competency that is rarely seen in a new-comer. Junpyo, though with noticeable differences from the original manga character, managed to instantly capture the hearts of the audience as well as Jandi’s. But since ep. 13, Junpyo did little other than putting on a sad face, eating endless instant noodles(of a certain sponsor), plugging the silly Shihwa cell phone (of another sponsor) whenever he could, and helplessly bearing the harassment from the fiancée who seemed to get increasingly aggressive and annoying with her excessive screen time. Where is the character? The love-stricken, passionate, single-minded Junpyo? Where is the intriguing love story development of the two main characters? With all the sidetracks around them, the two main characters had marginal screen time together to properly deepen their emotional connections, and whenever they did get together, the drama became a weepy or sappy ost mv! Both Junpyo and Jandi became almost unrecognizable in part 2, it’s as if we are watching a different love story of the cousins of J&J!

As to Jihu, we do get the message, dear writers – yes, he is charming, a “firefighter”, an angel, a human GPS, a combination of Mother Teresa and Superman. We love him. But why do we have to get the same lousy message for over 10 episodes? Other than that he’s extremely nice and infatuated with Jandi, we don’t see any layers of emotion or progressions of motives. The storyline of the “runaway grandpa” is weak if not childish, with too many obvious holes in the plot. And yet, the Jihu storyline took up more screen time than Jundi’s. Why??

We understand the needs to have a “love triangle” of some sorts in such drama. But the extra angle/angles should never out-weigh the main two. You cannot tell a story effectively by spreading it evenly to everyone. You will only end up destroying the dynamics between all the characters.

It was, and always should be a “love story between Tsukasa (Junpyo) and Tsukusi (Jandi)” before anything, and then the story of love and friendship with the F3 and other supporting cast. It should never be an EVEN “love triangle” from start to end! The original manga was too sweet and innocent to be cheapened in such cheesy traditional Kdrama way.

So my humble verdict-
Excessive Jihu storyline: ineffective and distracting.
Excessive fiancée storyline: damaging and dragging.
Giving the supporting cast more than necessary scenes does not do the actors any favor in actuality. And it destroys the balance of the story-telling.

One can’t help but wondering if such storyline arrangements has anything to do the backstage politics? Why do I get the feeling that Lee Minho is just as helpless as the Junpyo in part 2, seeing his character diminished and overpowered episode by episode?

As to the “Seoulmate”line, I like both actors. And the original manga did leave some room for a storyline development. However, I found myself watch this line most impatiently. The ex-girlfriend, the womanizer father, the older brother, all seemed to be more distractions than attractions. The writer attempted to provide some deeper psychological explanation for Yijon’s character, but the effort failed to launch. We only saw “plots”, not characters. Both the dialogues and plots were superficial, and the over-dramatization of Yijon’s character unconvincing. It’s most likely that we may see Seoulmates pucker their lips in this version, but it won’t change the fact that this storyline is still half-baked.

All in all, the production company picked themselves a winning number in the casting department. All F4 young actors and Miss Ku proved to be well fit for their roles, though some are more efficient than others. The biggest winner is undoubtedly Mr. Lee Minho, and deservedly so.

The loser has to be the writing team. Part 2 is Korean BOF’s ambitious attempt to be “original”, and the effort proved to be controversial at best. Is it because of the writers own lack of competency, or the overwhelming backstage politics trying to launch certain actors and selling products? Or both.

Note to G8: You invested smartly and made this version of BOF into a pop culture draw, and then you quickly turned it into a money-printing machine. Good plan, though it could have been done in a more subtle fashion. After all, you are making a show, a drama that has something to do “art”, though probably not too much. But it still is not entirely a commercial product. Next time, try to be less obvious if you can help it. Good job in casting and styling, lukewarm in directing, poor in writing and product pushing (need to improve skills in subtlety).

To the writers and pds: 2 episodes left, impossible to undo the damage of the past 10. But we are hoping anyway. Please stop making mv and using excessive flashbacks. Give poor Junpyo and Jandi some plausible storyline, even some decent dialogues, or even just proper screen time.

Ps. Episode 23 has some welcomed improvement. It once again proved what we all knew for 2 months: give Minho some quality material, and he will shine for you. After all, Junpyo IS the leading man. The main reason why the manga was such an endearing and enduring classic!

New Actress Kim Min Ji Cast For ‘Boys Over Flowers’

New actress Kim Min Ji as been selected to play the character known as Umi in the original version of ‘Boys Over Flowers.’

The BOF production company revealed to the Asian Economic Daily news over the phone that, “Kim Min Ji has been decided upon to play the character known as Umi in the Japanese version and she will make her appearance on the 30th in Episode 24 uptil the 25th episode.”

Kim Min Ji was recently in the KBS drama, Empress Cheon Chu and now in BOF she will aid Goo Jun Pyo who loses his memory and ultimately cause a rift between him and Geum Jandi acting as the part of Umi.

In the meantime, ‘Boys Over Flowers’ will end it’s run with the 25th episode to be broadcast on March 31st.

source: kbites

After the filming for KBS drama Boys Over Flowers ends, the main cast for the drama will all make a visit to the hospital.

The first one will be ‘Korea’s Sunbae’ Kim Hyun Joong. During the first half the drama’s filming, Kim Hyun Joong has met with an car accident, but because the filming schedule was tight back then, he had refused the complete treatment, so after the filming ends, he will have complete treatment for his injuries.

His representative said,”He will be hospitalised from beginning of April. He will undergo treatment and close examination for his accident back then, and also have enough rest from the busy filming. He may be hospitalised for as long as a month.”

“He complaint that discomfort at his waist area and he couldn’t walk properly after the accident. He will undergo complete treatment so that the injury will not hinder his promotional activities as a singer.”

While for Lee Min Ho, he will also be hospitalised mid-May to undergo a surgery to remove the metal support frame in his leg.

His representative said, “After his London photoshoot and Japanese activities end, he will be hospitalised to undergo the surgery. And then he will hold a birthday party cum fanmeeting in June.”

There are also plans for a full-body examination for Goo Hye Sun, who had her lips sewed after a car accident during filming.

Her representative said, “Her lips had swelled a lot. And with the accumulation of fatigue from her previous activities in the past years and also the car accident this time during filming, this will be a good chance for her to go for a full-body check up. We will want to check if there is anything not right about her healthy at all.”

The fan 'thinking' was 100% right .I agreed that last 2 episode should have more of JP and JD scenes . Give Minho more quaility time and he will shine as he is a very talented and charismatic young actor.

hopefully no more unnecessary scenes which is wasting the air time...

i hope BOF will extend.

you and thousands of fans out there.... :)

ANNOUNCEMENT:

HI GUYS! I WANT TO THANK ALL OF YOU WHO HAS SPENT THEIR TIME ON THIS BLOG. I'M THINKING (JUST THINKING 4 THE TIME BEING) THAT I PROBABLY NEED TO CLOSE/STOP THIS BLOG DUE TO INCREASING WORKLOAD IN THE OFFICE NOWADAYS. THIS BLOG WAS FIRST CREATED WITH THE INTENTION TO PROVIDE MY SISTER WITH AN ONLINE SITE FOR ALL THE LATEST DRAMA AND NEWS (SINCE SHE'S IN HOSTEL). BUT SINCE WE ALSO DOWNLOADED THE DRAMA, AND MY WORKLOAD ISSUE, I DUN THINK SHE WOULD MIND ME CLOSING IT. I KNOW THIS BLOG IS JUST ANOTHER SITE WITH THE SAME CONTENTS OF OTHER ONLINE SITE, SO I DON'T THINK ANYBODY WILL FEEL ANYTHING/LOST ABOUT IT. AGAIN, THIS IS JUST A PLANNING. IF WORKLOAD IS GETTING ON ITS TOLL, IT WILL BE REALLY HARD FOR ME TO UPDATE SUBBED DRAMA'S AS SOON AS THEY ARE AVAILABLE.

Please report for any broken link or post's problem. Thank you!

DailyMotion Tips:

To view DailyMotion videos within the RCP page, click somewhere in the middle of the video progress bar. If you cannot find where the progress bar is located, click just below the line (or on the line) separating the upper black video screen and the lower gray navigation bar. Try it. It works!

ViiKii's Playing Guide:

1. Sometimes their videos take quite a long time to load. Please wait.

2. A default video will have all the caption, subtitles and comments coming out and can be very tiredsome, therefore move your cursor over the video and click on the selected option that you want to turn off (usually the comments and discussion)

3. If any part of the video is not loaded even after waiting for sometimes, it could either be that your connection is too slow OR the source of the video has been deleted or broken.

UPDATES:

Viikii server crashed and they lost some videos. They are now trying to remake or sub anew and re-upload the affected videos. Because of this, it is possible that some videos for the episodes posted here will not work anymore; some may be missing or may contain the wrong series.

Please report for any broken videos either in the comment area or the shout box. Thank you.
